Businesses in Jersey currently reporting their Gender Pay Gap

Why should you report your gender pay gap?
Hear from our business leaders about why they report their gender pay gap.
At Affinity, we know that addressing the Gender Pay Gap isn’t just the right thing to do; it’s essential for building a truly inclusive and fair workplace. By voluntarily sharing our gender pay data, we gain a clearer picture of where we stand, allowing us to establish foundations for continuous progress. This transparency helps us break down any barriers, ensuring that everyone—now and in the future—works in an environment where their contributions are recognised and valued equally. Our dedication to closing the gender pay gap reflects not only our commitment to equality, but also our belief in the diverse talents that make us stronger as a team.
- Affinity Private Wealth
Our aim at Prosperity 24/7 is to create a transparent and inclusive culture which provides opportunities for all. We believe that reporting on the Gender Pay Gap is an essential tool to ensure transparency and drive progress. The gender pay gap reflects more than just unequal pay for the same role; it highlights broader workforce inequalities such as differences in career opportunities, unequal access to higher paying roles, job segregation, and the disproportionate burden of unpaid care work on women. Closing the gap requires addressing these underlying challenges, not merely equalising salaries for similar positions.

At JE, our dedication to Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) remains steadfast. We believe that fostering a workplace where every individual feels valued, respected and empowered is not only the right thing to do, it’s essential to our success and the well-being of our community. > A key part of this commitment has been our Gender Pay Gap reporting, which we’ve consistently produced over the past few years. Like any meaningful data, it has served as a powerful tool, driving transparency, accountability and informed decision making to break down barriers to workplace equality. > By embracing a data driven approach , we have successfully halved our gender pay gap, a milestone that reflects our ongoing efforts to create a fair and inclusive workplace for all. While this progress is encouraging, our journey doesn’t stop here. We remain committed to continuous improvement, ensuring that equality is embedded in everything we do.
- Jersey Electricity
Publishing our gender pay gap is not just about transparency; we are making a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusivity by actively creating a workplace where all roles have access to equal participation for any characteristic. By taking this step, particularly in an industry where many of our careers generationally suffer from forms of gender bias, we want to lead by example and empower positive change for a more inclusive future.

Feedback from our community
I joined the #MindTheGap group to help be a change activist for better equality & equity for women in Jersey, on behalf of my three young daughters. The support, inspiration and sense of community I have found from the women in the group has been incredible and I am so proud to be involved in the positive impact we are having on addressing the core issues facing women and young girls today. We all want a brighter future and are proof that together in solidarity, we can be the change we want to see in the world!

I support the "Mind the Gap Initiative" because it's a key step toward gender equality, fairness, and inclusion. It tackles important issues like the pay gap and ensures everyone has equal opportunities to succeed. The network of incredible women in the initiative offers support, shares ideas, and together, we can break barriers and create real change. Being part of this community empowers me to work toward a fairer, more inclusive future—one where everyone is valued, and we can all thrive together. The impact we’re making now is just the beginning of a brighter, more equal tomorrow.

An ex-banker and FX trader for the biggest bank in the world, I pivoted into coaching and tapping ten years ago. I use a scientifically proven approach to help professional women smash through their limitations so that they can achieve what they have set their heart on and live the life they deserve. The Gender Pay Gap is certainly one of those limitations; or perhaps it is the metric that summarises how other limitations materialise. That is why I support this initiative. My approach is never about finger pointing, but about adding much needed calm and clarity, one mind at a time.

Being part of the Gender pay gap group is my way of giving back and helping Jersey catch up with the rest of the world in terms of transparency. Transparency is key when it comes to reporting gender pay gaps. It not only shows where things stand but also gives us the chance to take action and make things fairer and more inclusive for everyone.

"When women are in the workforce, the workplace becomes more productive, innovative, and empathetic.” — Indra Nooyi As a mother, I see firsthand how the gender pay gap holds women back—especially those taking time out or returning to work. In my work in recruitment, I challenge employers to recognize the value of working mothers and break down the outdated barriers that limit their opportunities. My daughters deserve to grow up in a world where talent, not time away, defines a woman’s worth in the workplace. When women lift each other up, we create real change. By sharing our experiences, supporting one another, and pushing for progress, we can build a future where every working mother is valued, respected, and given the opportunities she deserves.

As a politician I support the "Mind the Gap" Campaign because it is the right thing to do for our economy. Jersey can only be prosperous if it is diverse and inclusive with equality of opportunity for all. In my manifesto for the 2022 elections, I called for a reduction in the gender pay gap with the government being the standard bearers. That is why I am thrilled to be part of this community encouraging Jersey's businesses and government to take reducing the gender pay gap seriously - not only by recording and reporting the data but by developing an action plan for reduction. Some stats - the PWC reported in 2023 stated that closing the Gender Pay Gap in Jersey could generate a boost of £187 million to female earnings. This equates to a £17.3 million income tax liability and a further £3.5 million in social security contributions. If we matched Jersey’s female labour force participation rate to Sweden this would boost Jersey’s GDP by 2% annually (£77 million).
